| Why
do so many students enter college and lose the fervor
they once had for Christ?
The college campus can be a spiritual greenhouse or a graveyard. Sometimes you just need someone to help you find an environment where you can begin or continue to grow spiritually and find other students who are trying to follow Jesus as their Savior and Teacher. (Matthew 28:18-20)
CollegeWalk
wants to help you, your son or daughter or those in your youth group(or your students if you are a youth minister) make a successful spiritual transition. We will help connect you with communities of college students who are trying to follow Jesus together on your campus.
How does it work?
Finding a college campus ministry is no different than your search for the right college. You need to pray, take initiative, do your research, network and be patient with those whom you contact. Campus ministers are inordinately busy and often have minimal administrative assistance. College churches and campus ministries are usually in a momentous kind of flux from May-August because students are constantly joining and leaving their groups (1/4 to 1/3 group turnover each year is common).
Warning
Web site information may not be 100% accurate for a variety of reasons, ministers and student leaders leave town for the summer, change their contact information, and transfer schools often.
The best way to find any kind of specific information you are looking for in a timely manner is to work through trusted friends who have gone before you to college, or friends of friends who are campus pastors and ministers. They will often respond quicker than Web sites (so contact multiple parties and increase your odds). It’s as simple as an email, an IM, a Myspace, or Facebook message, …and following it up with a phone call.
